Thereminator 2 has transitioned from its nostalgic roots into a sophisticated touch-controlled virtual theremin, boasting an impressive array of tone, expression, versatility, and cutting-edge technology. Now available as an AUv3 plugin, it utilizes a customized version of the MPE protocol, allowing users to seamlessly integrate its haunting sounds into various digital audio workstations (DAWs), whether on iPhone, iPad, or Apple Silicon-powered devices.

This revival is not just about nostalgia; it offers substantial improvements that will appeal to both seasoned musicians and newcomers alike. The app's sound engine features eight distinct waveforms, a broad octave range, and a dedicated drive stage for enhanced sound complexity. The introduction of a virtual-analog resonant filter and customizable vibrato and tremolo operators further enriches the auditory palette.

The built-in touch controller elevates user interaction by providing horizontal pitch and vertical expression control across 51 musical scales. Additionally, features like Note Snap for glide adjustments between notes and a lock function ensure an intuitive experience during music creation.
